CSi is pleased to announce that a major coal mining company has awarded CSi a ‘turn-key’ project (permitting, site construction/reclamation, service rig, cementing, etc.) to plug and abandon (P&A) multiple wells in central West Virginia in advance of approacing surface mining activities.  Field activities formally commenced yesterday morning.

As part of CSi’s efforts to maintain a safe workplace for its employees’, CSi has conducted a number of training courses (MSHA, OSHA HAZWOPER, OSHA Confined Space Entry First Aid, CPR, etc.) over the last several weeks with more to come.   Last Friday (3/27/09), CSi provided an OSHA safety refresher, rig-specific safety training/forum, USEPA SPCC (Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures) training, and well control training.

CSi was notified this day that it has been awarded a soil removal action project for a major gas transmission company.  Field work has been tentatively scheduled for kick-off the week of April 13.

In order to improve CSi’s emergency response capabilities in the area, CSi recently deployed a spill response trailer to its Yard #3 located in Graysville, PA.

Commenting on this development, CSi’s President J. Scott Freshwater stated: ”When coupling our long term, multi-client activities in the region with the upswing in gas well drilling in the immediate area, we have recognized a need to reduce CSi’s spill response times in the area for several years now.   In release situations, time is of essence and a quick response can dramaticially influence the impact to the environment and the corresponding clean-up costs.  Interestingly, this unit was mobilized from Yard #3 on its first project for a long standing client, three (3) days after deployment from CSi headquarters.”

CSi is pleased to announce that it has increased its service capabilities by adding a cement pumping unit to its fleet.

Commenting on the new cementing unit, CSi’s President J. Scott Freshwater stated: “We elected to add this unit to meet our client demands for controlling project costs.   This unit was designed for simplicity and cost effectiveness and will prove to be beneficial to CSi’s customers in current market conditions.”
